Curren$y, also known as Spitta or Spitta Andretti, is a rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. When he was just getting started, he was affiliated with Master P’s No Limit Records by his association with rappers Soulja Slim and C-Murder. His brother, Mr. Marcelo, was also working with Master P trying to get his own record label, Tuff Guys, off the ground.

Curren$y was planning riding Tuff Guys' wave for his career, but when Soulja Slim, C-Murder, and his brother’s associate were all killed or incarcerated, Master P called up Curren$y to work with him. After recording eight records with Master P’s label, Spitta realized he didn’t want to work in a label environment and decided to go the independent route.

Still, he ended up running into Lil Wayne at a gas station, resulting in them recording a slew of records in Miami. Later on, Curren$y has worked closely with Wiz Khalifa, releasing a number of projects together. Albums and mixtapes alone, Curren$y has dropped a staggering 62 projects, not to mention dozens of other features, collaborations, and singles. Curren$y maintains the status of one of the most legendary underground rappers to ever do it.
