Higher Brothers

The Higher Brothers are a rap group from Chengdu, a city in Sichuan, China. They are part of a larger rap collective called Chengdu Rap House. Members Psy.P and Melo were also members of another rap group, the TianDi Clan, before they formed the Higher Brothers with MaSiWei and DZ.

Each member of the group had different hip-hop artists who influenced them, but most of them are Western: 50 Cent, Kendrick, Migos, and J. Cole are all names they have cited, respectively. 88rising, a New York record label focused on giving a platform to Asian artists, signed the Higher Brothers and released the music video for their “Black Cab” track in 2016.

Since then, they have been in multiple US ad campaigns, worked with American and Asian hip-hop artists, and gone on tour in both China and the United States. Their biggest hit to date has been their track “Made In China” which features Famous Dex, and has over 9M views on YouTube. There has even been a video posted by 88rising showing the reactions of rappers like Migos, Playboi Carti and Lil Yachty to the music video.
