Phresher Interview: From East New York to Busta Rhymes & Eminem | Hip Hop My Way
Phresher is a rapper from Brooklyn, New York. Initially, he had hopes of being a professional athlete, as he played wide receiver and safety in Division II football. He self-admittedly “dropped the ball” in school and had his first kid at 16, ushering him onto a different path. Deciding between entering the world of fashion or music, he chose the latter and released his first song on Youtube called “POLO SONG” in 2010.
It wouldn’t be until 2016 that he started to see a remarkable increase in popularity. In that year, he released the song “Wait a Minute” with 50 Cent. Many remixes to the song have been posted, the most popular version featuring Remy Ma with over 16M views on YouTube. Phresher is also known for featuring on Eminem’s “Chloraseptic” track on his REVIVAL album. Phresher’s first and only official EP, Wait a Minute, released in 2017. A year later, he dropped his debut studio album, PH. In his spare time, he coaches basketball and football.
