The Hoodies

The Hoodies are a rap group from Ellenville, New York comprised of brothers E-Class and Young Poppa. The Hoodies chose their name after the death of Trayvon Martin, with whom they identified with because they wore hoodies like he did at the time if his death. They hope to change any stigma surrounding hoodies, and their culture in a broader sense, through their music.

Exposed to hip-hop by their mother, the rap duo’s career took off when they started their “In The Whip” freestyle series, which features the brothers freestyling together in their mother’s car. After posting the videos online, they became an internet sensation, giving them the opportunity to freestyle with Jadakiss and Styles P, and appear on The Ellen Show. Most recently, they got to freestyle on Hot 97, adding to their online buzz. They are allegedly working on an upcoming project called Family Business.
