Uno The Activist+2
Uno The Activist is a rapper from the Zone 3 section of Atlanta, Georgia. He was his father’s first child, so when his dad started calling him Uno, the name stuck. Uno attributes the “Activist” part of his name as coming from his optimism and positive nature. He grew up listening to artists like Outkast and Lil Wayne, and his dad put him onto 8Ball and MJG.
Uno started rapping in the ninth grade as a hobby, and eventually helped form the rap group TFZ with his cousin, Playboi Carti. He released his first official song in his senior year of high school, titled “I Doubt It.” After graduating high school, Uno spent a semester studying audio engineering before deciding college wasn’t for him. This was around the time he dropped his single “Parkin’ Lot Pimpin’,” which helped boost his buzz enough for him to get calls to do shows outside Atlanta.
Now, Uno has a Soundcloud with several songs well over a million plays, and his most famous single, “What,” was shot with Playboi Carti has over 8M plays on YouTube. He says that he’s still trying to figure out his message, but knows his purpose is to influence others and inspire them to go get what they want in life for themselves.
