Straight out of Compton came five individuals who would change the course of hip-hop and music history forever. In the small amount of time N.W.A. was together as a group, they’ve managed to influence extreme feelings of love and hate (to both critics and fans) through their amazing storytelling abilities. Last week’s premiere on the group’s biopic Straight Outta Compton showed us that they were a force to be reckon with.

Who were N.W.A?
The 5 members of N.W.A included, in what was to become later in the future, an all-star lineup: Dr.Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Yella, and MC Ren. Their music documented on topics seen from their viewpoint: violence, guns, poverty, and police brutality.
“City of Compton…”
Compton is situated in southern Los Angeles and it’s home to other born and bred Compton-ites: the dynamic duo of the Williams’ sisters, Kendrick Lamar, Tyson Chandler, Anthony Anderson, and others.
