Uh Oh!
Though Nelly and Ashanti broke up about five years ago, it would seem as though the sting from the break up is still fresh. Why does it seem that way?
At a recent concert, Ashanti threw some major shade at her ex. While it is unclear what triggered such an emotional display, one thing is for sure… The New York native sings well even when she’s upset.

One fan’s camera was up at the perfect moment. “See I just wanna make sure y’all understand exactly what I’m saying… Cause I’ve been betrayed before, publicly at that,” Ashanti said at the beginning of the video, getting herself ready to belt out her song. “I just wanna make sure y’all feel me.”
After someone in the crowd yelled “f**k Nelly,” the songstress quickly shot back, “word.”
Love Gone Bad
“With all the love that I’ve gave, and all the love that we’ve made,” sang Ashanti, as the crowd went crazy. When The Shade Room got a hold of the clip and posted it on Instagram, fans flooded the comments with love, support, and sympathy for the singer.
Many linked her comments to Nelly’s recent sexual assault allegations. Just last month (January 2018), prosecutors had no choice but to drop the sexual assault case against Nelly after the alleged victim, Monique Greene, refused to testify against the star. The “Just a Dream” artist was cleared of all charges, and the Washington State police department concluded their investigation into the matter.
Afterwards, Nelly, who passionately maintained his innocence from the beginning, publicly acknowledged that him and Greene had engaged in sexual relations on the night in question. The “Dilemma” rapper told authorities that he and Greene engaged in consensual oral and vaginal intercourse on the night in questions. He also claimed that she removed her own clothes. To ward off any thought of a pregnancy, he then said that he did not use a condom, but he didn’t ejaculate.
Downfall

When officers questioned why the 25-year-old aspiring model would make up a story like this, Nelly claimed it was possibly out of jealousy. According to the rapper, Greene — whom he reportedly met at Aston Manor nightclub in Seattle during October of 2017 — was upset that Nelly was involved with a dancer on his tour bus. (Whether Nelly was or was not actually involved with said dancer is still unclear.)
Meanwhile, Greene didn’t mention another women in her statement, nor did she say the intercourse was consensual. Instead, the Washington native recounted that Nelly removed her clothing by force before throwing her on his bed.
In her statement, Greene said that the encounter lasted 30 minutes. She also alleges that she was offered $2,500 to stay on the bus until its next stop after their encounter. Because she refused, an unidentified member of Nelly’s team “pushed” her off the bus before the rapper threw a $100 dollar bill at her.
As every major news outlet reported late last year (2017), Greene called 911 just after being booted from the bus. Upon authorities’ arrival, Nelly was arrested while Greene was taken to a local hospital for testing. Ultimately though, the case went no where. Greene said she opted out of assisting with the case in fear that the system would “fail” her.
