Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea have had beef for quite some time now. The back and forth has gone on for over five years, but something is changing in the winds. We’re used to seeing Azealia Banks in the middle of the beef, as she’s become one of the biggest fight starters of our generation. It seems like every week we hear something new about her going off on someone through her Twitter. This time around she’s playing the… peacemaker?
Where’s the beef?
Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks’ beef goes way way back. It started back in 2011, but it seems like things are finally coming towards a close. The two female rappers have had their fair share of hatred over the years, but they’re squashing the beef between each other.
Azealia Banks used to be considered one of the better upcoming rap stars of her generation, but things seemed to fall off. It seemed like she was more content making twitter beef than actual music, and that’s where people had drawn the line.
After Azealia got on Twitter to talk about cooling things down, Iggy responded on her Snapchat account and talked about the issues surrounding the two rappers. Surprisingly enough, she talked about how she can sympathize with Azealia.
“I just want to say FYI; A. Banks. Call me crazy but girl; I don’t hate you. I don’t know you to hate you,” she said. She makes a pretty good point. Tons of beef in today’s world starts over the internet between people who have never even met in real life.
She wrote: “I believe you may want to meet me in person so you can steal a lock of my hair and cast a spell hoping I die (lol) I don’t agree with many of your opinions but honestly, at times I empathize with you as creative Gemini woman. I wish you had spoken to me before deciding I was out to get you when we first came on the scene, but that’s also typical Gemini reaction sh*t (I get it). As a 27 year old adult woman just know: I wish you well from one human to another and joke collaboration or not as adults we should move past trivial beef with strangers.”
