Authorities believe they've found Bambino's body
Police in Alabama beleive theey have found the remains of the missing rapper Bambino Gold and his cousin.
According to AL.com, two bodies were found in rural Macon County over the weekend. The bodies were several miles apart and it is unclear how they got there.
The first body was discovered by a passer-by who told a friend to call the police. When investigators looked around the area, they found a second body several miles away close to another road.
“They were not far off of the road at all,” Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunson said. “It looks like somebody placed them there. I don’t think they were killed there.”
“It’s very sad,” he added. “My heart goes out to the families and we’re working hard to get to the bottom of this.”
The bodies have yet to be officially identified and have been sent off to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for confirmation of their identities, but there is suspicion that they belong to Bambino Gold and his relative.
Bambino and his cousin, Kendrick Stokes, disappeared on Nov. 4 after performing in their hometown of Montgomery. The pair stopped off at the Alabama State Fair and a friend’s house on the way out of town back to Atlanta, but friends and family began to get worried when they could not get a hold of them.
Felicia Webster, the mother of Bambino’s cousin, went so far as to travel to Atlanta to urge the police force to look for her missing son. She said the she knew something was up when she didn’t get her daily phone call.
“I talk with him every day. Every day. We’re a family that prays together,” she said. She continued saying that she “knew something was not right” when he didn’t call on Monday evening after leaving for Atlanta. “I stay awake during the night because I’m just hoping he’ll walk through that door–or he’ll call and say, ‘Mama, I’m here,’ or ‘Mom, come get me. I’m somewhere.’ Because, normally, this is not like my son,” she continued.
An Unfortunate End
She wrote a letter asking the APD to help her find Stokes. Her plea reads:
“Kendrick Stokes has been missing for several days. We have not gotten a phone call, text or email from him. No person as a family member, friend or associate has received any contact from him. We have grave concern for his safety, well-being and where he is at this present time.
The law enforcement authorities in Montgomery, Alabama have concentrated their efforts in this matter and we as a family are interested in expanding the support to locate our family member.
We the family do hereby request a partnership with the Atlanta Police Department in expanding the efforts to find Kendrick Stokes.
We request a meeting with the department with all deliberate speed to support us in resolving our concern. Please be in communication with Mr. Bartell and assist us with this urgent and critical matter for our family.”
Unfortunately, it seems like her son has been found. There is still hope that the bodies found don’t belong to the missing men, but authorities in the area seem to believe that they are, in fact, the remains of the duo.
