He was not having the 'reunion' narrative
Black Ink Crew’s Fly Sky has a strained relationship with her son… to say the least. In fact, he was spotted hanging out with his mother’s rival Dutchess from Pretty Ink. That’s why it was heartwarming to see a photo of the pair FaceTime-ing and seeming to patch things up.
However, after the image of Sky watching her grinning son spread around social media, he reached out to let everyone know that things are not Gucci between the two of them. As a matter of fact, the FaceTime snapshot seems to have made things worse, as the young man feels betrayed by being snapped without his knowledge.
“We only talked one time in a FaceTime,” he said in a recent rant. “That doesn’t make up for the conversations we never had over the past 10 years. This picture was took while she was expressing how sorry she was as a mother and telling me what she was going to do to make it better. Hearing that after so many years could only make me smile and that’s when this picture was took and published without me even being told by my own mother. What kind of low down dirty shit is that? I couldn’t even get a phone call in jail or a letter to show that she cared. And when i saw the episode on Black Ink Crew where she said she was writing me a letter that was never even sent, when I witness that with my own eyes on the screen, I couldn’t do nothing but shake my head and let a tear fall.”
He went on to say that Fly Sky never reached out to help him when he was at his lowest and added that she offered nothing when he was struggling to find a job after being released from jail.
“I was released from jail without an ID and when I went to the family… I was told that my social security card had been lost. I spent two months struggling to get the information I needed just to get my ID,” he said. “No help was offered from my mom, not even recognition of me being alive until I did this interview.”
He said that all of the help he received to get back on his feet came from his father, who doesn’t have the backing of a reality TV show contract. He also questioned whether or not his mother would have acknowledged him had he not forced the issue by speaking on her publicly.
“It made me wonder if I didn’t do this interview would she even recognize me in the same room?” he asked.
Take A Look
Take a look at the whole rant up top. What do you think? Is he right to be upset? Should he feel like he’s being used as a prop? Was he right to go to the media with his complaints instead of Sky herself? Will they ever be able to patch things up after such a public shaming?
