Women to Women
Cardi B and Offset may be in a great place now, as they prepare to bring their first child together into the world, but just a little while ago things were different. For the first few months of the new year, the duo weathered a very public cheating scandal, one that Cardi felt distracted fans from her music.
Now that Khloé Kardashian and her new baby-daddy Tristan Thompson are going though something similar, Cardi offered some advice to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.
“I would advice her to listen to Invasion of Privacy. I think it will help her bring down some tears,” the rapper began.
Stars Vs. Blogs
“You know, I really feel for her,” Cardi continued. “There’s nothing more annoying when something like that is in the public eye.” The star went on to vent about her issue with “these blogs” and paparazzi, saying, “This women is pregnant. She’s pregnant, and to bring that type of stress on a pregnant women is heartbreaking. And it’s just like… It’s dangerous as well. Nobody cared. Nobody has the heart to be like, ‘Let’s just chill.'”
“It’s all about the money, or it’s all about the clickbait. I don’t know how people are not inbarrassed or disgusted,” she continued.
Some fans agreed with Cardi, jumping in the comments, cosigning her thoughts on gossip outlets and sketchy photographers.
“Real s**t doe,” commented an Instagram user. “This is jus what i said like damn TMZ they r really f**ked up for this what if something happen to her. As women we r very emotional & being prego makes u damn near syco so y do that to somebody & all thise women over @ TMZ should have told Harvey with his Gay A** lets chill on this 1 lets not report this,” a fan wrote.
Defending Her Choice
Though she didn’t comment on it, Cardi can almost certainly sympathize with the backlash Khloé faced after she forgave Tristian. The “Ring” rapper’s name was dragged through social media after she announced that her and Offset were planning to work it out.
She defended her choice to stick by her now-baby-daddy several times, with the last time being during an interview with Cosmopolitan.
“This is my life … I’m going to take my time, and I’m going to decide on my decision,” the “Bartier Cardi” rapper said matter-of-factly. “It’s not right, what he f**king did — but people don’t know what I did, ’cause I ain’t no angel.”
Rumors of Offset’s cheating started late 2017, hitting the internet like a wild fire. Video after grainy video flooded social media feeds. The rumors, which were impossible to avoid, painted the newly engaged couple in bad light. The duo went from being #RelationshipGoals to… something else entirely.
Needless to say, fans of hip-hop’s latest favorite were distracted.
“I really hate when s**t like this happens because it takes away from my work. It takes away from my plans,” Cardi said at the time. “The focus is not on my s**t,” she added, referencing her then-newly-released single, “Bartier Cardi.” “The gossip always over-beats.”
In addition to constantly defending her choice to stay with Offset, the New York native focused on the issue of the videos being leaked from his iCloud rather than the content of the videos. Alongside leaking incriminating videos against Offset, the rapper’s hacker dropped a private video that Cardi sent to him. She told fans that though she didn’t mind being unclothed on the internet, citing her years of stripping, the invasion of privacy is inexcusable.
After reports of her lawyering up to find the person responsible hit the headlines, the videos magically stopped.
