Not so Thuggin'
The old versus new argument will always live in the world of hip hop. Fans have their own personal opinions, and the artists do as well. It’s pretty obvious that an older rapper will stick to their gut and represent their generation over the current one, but is that what Snoop Dogg was doing here? Young Thug is known for expressing himself and not really caring what other people think about him, but he might rethink that after he sees how Snoop portrayed him in his latest video…
Moment I Feared
Snoop Dogg’s new video for “Moment I Feared” shows how he really feels about some of the younger artists in the rap game today. He wasn’t very shy about his feelings, and he may leave rappers like Young Thug and Lil Uzi Vert a little shook.
Some of the older rappers don’t like how expressive the current generation is. People seem to do what they want nowadays, and that doesn’t sit well with some people. Young Thug’s album cover (where he’s wearing a dress) for one of his mixtapes is a pretty good example of that.
The music video is set up to look like one of Snoop Dogg’s hilarious GGN News segments. Fittingly enough, one of his GGN News running mates Rick Ross is on the song, and it makes the video so much better. The two sit down and talk about how they have respect for some of the new rappers in the game, and then it cuts into the music video part.
Throughout the whole video, you can see a man who seems to be dressed like Young Thug is on the cover of his mixtape Jeffery. In case you haven’t seen it, Thugger is sporting a dress on the cover, and it was pretty controvesial at the time.
In other shots of the video, we can see the same guy trying to resemble Lil Uzi Vert by rocking an “attention grabbing t-shirt.”
