This was a bit much
Keyshia Cole’s security won’t let anyone get in their way. Not even Keyshia Cole.
They proved that over the weekend when they bowled over the singer while trying to put some space between her and a fan who had climbed on the stage.
While Keyshia was content to vibe with the fan mid-song and he returned the favor by respectfully hover-handing the singer, security was not a fan of any of it. They plowed into the fan and very nearly knocked Cole into the audience. And it was all caught in a hilarious fan video.
That security is on edge shouldn’t be surprising. After all, Cole has made her fair share of enemies. She recently got roasted for allegedly not paying her backup dancers. Her entire dance team quit on her during a trip to South Korea over it. When Cole tried to spin the story of performing anyway as a signifier of her dedication to her fans, she was quickly clowned by someone claiming to speak for the dancers.
“Korea was sweet. I went all the way there to perform. My dancers quit at the last minute knowing the show was booked weeks prior!” Cole wrote. “My DJ couldn’t fly overseas and wasn’t feeling 100% but I went on stage and sung anyway! Korea has supported my talent for years and I’m very grateful.”
“Last minute was how they were getting paid,” wrote user @215ryanbrooks in a since-deleted comment. They continued:
“My godson @rameer_colon was one of your very talented and amazing dancers. He loves what he does and always gave 100% You were great but your management team is a**. No way my child should practice for hours, kill the performance and then have to wait weeks after his scheduled pay date. Just as well as you wanna be compensated and require partial payment fir appearances ON TIME, so do these dancers.”
The user also asked Cole to use common sense.
“If all three of your dancers quit, it has to be a good reason that doesn’t fall on them,” she said. “These boys have yet to get paid the two checks they were owed. So please spare the testimony of how you went above and beyond to perform without your dancers when your management team is the reason their hands were forced to do so.”
With all that bad blood in the air, it’s possible security was on high alert for anyone who could be described as lithe.

Security’s over-reaction is especially egregious when you consider what we already know about Cole. She may be tiny, but she can hold her own. Maybe a little too well, if we’re being honest. The singer was recently ordered by a judge to pony up six figures after she roughed up a woman who she thought was Birdman’s side piece.
Sabrina Mercadel was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cole, who was dating Birdman at the time of the incident in 2014, found Mercadel in Birdman’s Los Angeles condo when she swung by in the middle of the night. And then she started actually swinging. Mercadel sued the singer for $4 million but a judge brought that down to $100K.
Check out the video of the bum-rush up top. What do you think? Was security doing too much? Should they have let him be? If Keyshia is cool with it, shouldn’t they be too?
