Mystikal can't pay his bond.
Mystikal is currently being held in a Caddo Parish jail after turning himself in on a charge of first-degree rape, and it looks like he’s going to stay their for a while. According to Bossip, the rapper pleaded with a judge to lower his bond. The gossip website said that Mystikal argued his $2 million bond was excessively high and that his family can’t afford to get him out.
Mystikal’s lawyer claimed that he’s willing to make concessions to get the “Danger (Been So Long)” rapper out of prison. He said he’s willing to agree to conditions that would put him in rehab or under a monitoring system. He also reiterated that he believes his client to be innocent of the charges against him.
However, it seems like Mystikal will be in jail at least until his arraignment on September 26.
Two people have come forward to say that Mystikal and the man who is charged with first-degree rape are innocent. One of the people — a woman named Tenichia Wafford — is being charged as an accesory to the rape for allegedly attempting to get the victim to rescind her story.
“Ain’t nobody did none of that, girl,” said Wafford in a video shared by TMZ. “And yes, I got it on record that she said ain’t nobody did nothing to her.” She said that she wouldn’t have called the victim if she knew how things were going to play out.
“That threw me for a loop,” she added. “If I would of knew all that, I wouldn’t have even called her. I just called to check up on a friend. That’s all I was doing.” Wafford continued, saying that the victim has changed her story.
“She trying to protect her boyfriend because she ditched him all night to be with another n*gga,” she said. “And now all of a sudden somebody hurt her. But when I called her and asked her if somebody hurt her, she said ain’t nobody hurt her. So now, all of a sudden, I got a charge because I called her, I called a friend, to ask ‘Are you ok?’”
After Wafford’s video, another person came forward with a photo that he claimed proved that both men were innocent.
“3 innocent people are in jail because this 1 girl trying to find a way to get some money. She was ditching her boyfriend to be all up on my brother Lil Hood all night,” he wrote. “She offer them some sex and since her boyfriend caught her she trying to flip the script to save her relationship. Now she tryin to take an advantage to get some money. We also have evidence of her coming on to my bro that night. My brother did not do nothing wrong that night, she was just being a hoe that night and got caught by her boyfriend.”
“She was feeling all over my brother (DNA), drinks and food (DNA),” he continued. “That’s not a rape.”
If Mystikal is convicted, he could serve up to life in prison.
