“Everybody Living Life”
While performing at Palms for the grand opening of the Apex Social Club May 25, Nas… dropped the ball. According to TMZ, the rapper wasn’t on stage 10 minutes before he made a “grand exit.”
As told by attendants, Nas starts on a song then laughs before quitting all together. He concluded his performance with a shoutout to “everybody living life.”
About six months ago, Nas was complaining about Kelis not letting him see his son. In December, the emcee came forward, claiming that his ex-wife wouldn’t allow him fair visitation with his eight-year-old son, Knight Jones.
According to paperwork obtained by TheBlast, the “If I Ruled the World” rapper said that he has “tried to work cooperatively with Kelis over the years.” However, she insists on picking and choosing when he’s allowed to spend time with the son. Nas continued his statements saying that he spends time with the eight-year-old “when [Kelis] deems it convenient for [her].”
The NY native has always expressed the importance of being a good dad to his children. Keeping consistent with that message, he has proposed what he deems to be a fair schedule, allowing both parents to spend time with Knight.
According to the rapper’s proposition, both parents would get to spend Mother’s and Father’s Day respectively every year. He also proposes that he has custody of Knight on the 1st, 3rd, and the 5th weekends of every month. As for everything else:
Kelis gets Halloween in even years, Nas gets odd.
Kelis July 4 in even years, Nas gets odd.
Kelis gets Summer Break in odd years, Nas gets even.
Kelis gets Thanksgiving in odd years, Nas gets even.
Kelis gets the child’s birthday in odd years, Nas gets even
News about the couple’s custody battle sparked rumors that Kelis was being sour with her ex-husband because of his relationship with NY native Nicki Minaj. During the summer of last year (2017), the hip-hop community buzzed about Nicki and Nas possibly being an item. After the “Super Bass” artist posted a picture of the two looking super cozy, everyone assumed they were an item. When neither one of them flat out denied the rumors, the dating assumptions only got worse.
Durning an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, The Pinkprint artist blushed and smiled bright at the mention of Nas’ name. “He’s so dope,” she told Ellen. “He’s a king. He’s such a king.” Nicki told Ellen that they had “sleepovers” while Nas posted to social media showing the couple getting touchy-feely several times.
“He is the king of Queens, and I like to think I’m the queen of Queens,” she told the Ellen while on her show. “He’s a rap legend. Let’s just say that I have a lot of respect for him, and, you know, he’s kind of cute, too.”
Nas and Nicki’s relationship didn’t last though.
According to TMZ‘s January report, the Queens power couple was just too good to last. Their inside sources — though the article didn’t contain a single name or quote — said that the pair are done for.
Check out their scoop below:
“Sources close to the situation tell TMZ … the rappers broke up a few weeks ago after the relationship ran out of steam. They’ve been dating since June 2017, but we’re told living in different cities was just too much.
There were recent reports Nicki was pregnant, but we’re told there’s no truth to that.”
