A wise man once said: “Tat my f**king name on you so I know it’s real.” Like many before him, Offset followed this solid advice. Over the weekend, the Migos rapper got a tattoo of his fiancé’s name.
Is there a better way to quiet cheating rumors?
The video proof of Offset’s new ink popped up on Instagram, Twitter, and gossip outlets Sunday (Jan. 14) afternoon.
On the left side of the Southern rapper’s neck reads Cardi’s stage name, “Cardi B,” as opposed to her real name, Belcalis Almanzar. Right above her name is a tattooed Buttercup, the tomboyish sister of ’90s television series The Powerpuff Girls.
In the quick clip, viewers can see Cardi’s signature blinged-out nails running across Offset’s seemingly freshly-tattooed skin.
While Cardi nor Offset posted the video to their own Instagram accounts, Cardi showed her fans that she is proud of her fiancée’s new ink in her own, signtaure way.
Around the same time that news of Offset’s tattoo hit the internet, the “Bartier Cardi” rapper posted a photo of herself wearing a Buttercup necklace, alongside a bedazzled-hand necklace and two diamond chokers, to Instagram. “BUTTERCUP,” she captioned the post.
A good chunk of the internet found the permeant gesture to be sweet. Of course, most focused on the “deeper meaning” of the tattoo, speculating that the “Bad and Boujee” rapper only wanted to make Cardi happy after cheating on her.
The rumors of unfaithfulness began shortly after Offset’s iCloud was anonymously hacked. The culprit, who has yet to be caught, leaked a video Offset took of an unclothed women prancing around what looks to be a hotel bathroom. Though viewers couldn’t see the rapper’s face, they heard his voice loud and clear.
Weeks later, another (arguably much more incriminating) video was leaked. Though it was short and quite blurry, the second clip showed a fully unclothed Offset approaching and engaging in sexual acts with a women laying on a bed.
