Rappers take over Pennsylvania Ave.

Artists like BeyoncĂ© and Kelly Clarkston performed at Obama’s inauguration. While there weren’t any hip-hop artists invited, that didn’t stop them from reppin’ their president on stages elsewhere. One being Jeezy, who belted out his hit single, “My President” when Obama won his first presidential election in 2008.

Over time, rappers have slowly crept their way into the big house. Whether it was for a party, an attempt to stand for social change, or to just to kick it with the prez, rappers from Common to Eazy-E have made their way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
