A "Traumatic" Experience
Safaree tearfully revealed that he was robbed at gunpoint yesterday morning (Monday, April 2) on Angie Martinez’s radio show. While the host excitedly introduced him to her listeners, the “Hunnid” rapper sat shrunken down in his seat with his hand over his mouth.
Being so choked up, the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star could barely answer Angie when she asked him what was wrong.

Revealing the Details

Safaree revealed that the incident — which he called “probably 1 of the worst scariest nights of [his] life” on Twitter — happened around 3 AM Monday morning. After leaving a club in Jersey, allowing the bulk of his security and the rest of his team to go home, he said the robbers caught him by hisself as he got out his car.
“Two dudes with guns just ran up on me. Had me face down to the floor with a gun to my head. They just took everything,” Safaree said. “The police… They workin’ on it. They told me not to really say too much until they figure the things out.”
“I was with one other person… I was with my chef,” he continued. “I got out my car. Soon as I got out my car, they just came out of no where and just backed out on us.”

“I’ve never had a gun put to my face. And it’s like, I don’t know who the hell these people were. I don’t know where it’s coming from,” he said. The Brooklyn native went on to mention Vincent Roper, his deceased uncle who “just got killed for a robbery” back in 2017. The 64-year-old was stabbed to death in his Palmdale, Los Angeles home.
At the time, a heartbroken Safaree shared that he had never had someone taken from him in this way, before adding, “This is definitely the hardest thing I ever had to deal with in my life.” “He’s my mother’s brother,” Safaree continued in a video sent to TMZ. “It’s just like, we were close, you know? He used to come by always clean my cars and we used to ride motorcycles. He used to always cook.”
He went on to reveal that even his ex, Nicki Minaj, was close to his departed uncle, saying, “When me and Nicki were together, he used to be at the house.”
“He was my only uncle that I had out here,” he added.
In “Shock”

“I was laid out on the floor, and then, I just waited till I just knew there was nobody standing over me anymore, and then I just got up and ran,” Safaree told Angie. “I didn’t have my phone. I couldn’t call the cops. They took everything.”
Still in “shock,” Safaree went on to theorize that the robbers had to be “somebody who know me… was close to me.”
Portraying a downfall of being an entertainer, Safaree said that he doesn’t have time to deal with this. “With what I deal with day to day, just as far as me working and everything that I do is for me, I even can’t take days off,” he said. “I can’t say, ‘Oh, nah, I’m not taking this flight to go here.’ I got contracts to be places Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday… Every week for like the next few months.”
