As an artist, you pour your heart and soul into your music and your craft. It takes a lot of hard work to make a song let alone an album. When it comes to making an album, you wanna make sure you got the right type of people on your team, amongst other things. Before you spend countless hours creating your masterpiece and trying to push it, check out Saigon’s five tips on what you should do before making an album.
1. Get Connected
Get all ya social networks up running and connected.
It’s super important to make sure you’re present on social networks. Social media plays a huge part in promoting yourself and your brand. Not only does it help you connect to your audience, but it also increases awareness about new music, new videos, and other things you have going on.
2. Keep Real Ones Close
Ditch all the yes-men in your circle and keep HONEST, non-biased people around during the recording process.
The worst type of person to have on your team is a yes-man. When it comes to making music, you need real, legit people around to tell you if your music is dope or trash. Yes-men will only tell you what you wanna hear so they can continue to ride your wave.
3. Invest in Yourself
Invest in YOURSELF. Even if you don’t have much money, any extra TIME or money you can spare should be going into your career.
Manage your money wisely. If you have a 9 to 5, create a schedule to set time aside to work on your hustle. And when you get paid, instead of buying those new Jordans, put a few extra dollars to the side to pay for studio time or a dope beat. Stacking ya money up now will help in the long run.
