Wanna Minaj? Nicki Minaj’s “Break the Internet” Photo Doesn’t Receive the Attention We Thought It Would

Did it work?

The broken plate analogy is one of those things that has gained steam all over the internet and it’s easy to see why. The story of someone apologizing to a piece of shattered porcelain and seeing how it doesn’t make the plate come back together again is a good and quick explanation for the way that wrongs can linger even after the offending party has apologized. And maybe the story holds true for the platform it has proliferated on.

Put simply, you can only break the internet so many times before it can’t go back together again. We’ve seen the internet shatter into a million pieces too many times and it looks like we ran out of glue for this latest stunt by Nicki Minaj.

Where previous attempts to “Break the Internet” — a colloquial term for famous people sharing glossy, nude to semi-nude shots — have had something close to the desired effect, Minaj’s latest seems to have been met with a much more muted response.
