Listen up, stans!
The latest artifact to be added to the list of dead rapper memorabilia that people can buy is — cue drum roll — Notorious B.I.G.’s mugshot. One lucky super fan can buy the pictures, alongside a personalized note written to someone named Megan, for the low, low price of 36k.
Some point between 1994 and 1995, at the brink of the “Juicy” rapper’s stardom, he got himself into a little trouble in New Jersey. He was arrested at a Jersey nightclub, being booked at a local county jail.
“A woman named Megan, who was 14 at the time, was a fan of his, and her brother happened to be working at the jail where Biggie — real name Christopher Wallace — was booked,” reported Page Six. Since the guard knew his sister Megan was a huge fan, he finessed an autograph and a few mugshots to take home with him.
Signed From Biggie
The autograph was accompanied with a sweet note for Megan, which is now priced at $36,000 on Moments In Time. “To: Megan, Much Love, ‘Thanks 4 the phone call’ B.I.G.,” Biggie wrote on the slip of paper.
The note and photos are one of the more milder things from a deceased rapper to be sold lately. It is much more modest than photos of Tupac’s manhood, which were going for $7,500.
According to TMZ, the photo was going up for sale thanks to an ex-girlfriend of Tupac’s. She was trying to sell a whole set of photos from an early ‘90s party via an auction house. However, the most scandalous was the intimate shot. According to the auction house, Tupac had a habit of dropping his pants around friends. This particular moment was only different because someone had a camera.
“A collection of Tupac Shakur original photographs and negatives featuring a graphic n*de photograph of Tupac. Taken at a house party in Marin, California in 1990, the story behind the nude photograph is that Tupac would, on occasion, drop his pants when least expected and catch his friends by surprise,” read the description of the photos.
“On this particular night, when a friend was about to take group shot, he did it again! She told him that she was going to zoom in if he didn’t pull his pants up fast, but he just smiled at her and didn’t budge. And so, she took the picture!”
