For over a year, N.W.A. has resurfaced in a very large way. The notorious rap group became mainstream darlings once again after they wowed moviegoers with their biopic, Straight Outta Compton in 2015. The number one movie spawned positive reviews and even helped increase sales of their past musical endeavors. Now, it appears that the luck of the Compton hasn’t ran its course just yet.
Ice Cube will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
It was reported that Ice Cube, John Legend, and New Edition will receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2017. This comes as a huge feat for Ice Cube considering he just performed at Coachella and watched his group N.W.A. be placed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
The Hollywood Class of 2017 includes…
Amy Adams, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, Tyra Banks, Lee Daniels, Hugh Laurie, Sarah Silverma, Hall & Oates, NSYNC, Jeffrey Tambor and more. Talk about a class with a ton of star power. Each inductee will receive their own ceremony within the next two years.
This is well-deserved for Ice Cube.
Cube proved that’s he worthy of being dubbed a double-threat, as he managed to excel tremendously in both rapping and acting. Only a few rappers, like Will Smith, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, have been able to seamlessly segue into the acting world. Earlier this year, he and Kevin Hart teamed up for Ride Along 2, which which earned the highest weekend gross of all time.
