And just like that...we have a new super team
A new beginning in the Golden State
Kevin Durant will definitely find himself in good hands alongside the reigning two-time MVP Stephen Curry, sharpshooter Klay Thompson, Mr. Triple Double Draymond Green and a very credible coach in Steve Kerr. The team’s offense will alleviate pressure allowing Durant to cover his position more easily and improve his game.
Signing Durant gives the Warriors arguably the best group of players EVER. The Warriors now have four of the NBA’s top-12 players. Let that sink in for a minute.
Stephen Curry spoke to Durant about decision
According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, Curry spoke to Durant via text and explained how “Strength in Numbers” would help Golden State and KD land multiple rings. Check it out below.
“According to a person who saw the text messages, Curry told Durant in a text message that he could care less about who is the face of the franchise, who gets the most recognition or who sells the most shoes (Curry is with Under Armour, Durant with Nike). The two-time NBA MVP also told Durant that if Durant won the MVP award again he would be in the front row of the press conference clapping for him. In closing, Curry’s message to Durant was that all he truly cared about was winning championships and he’d like to do that as his teammate.”
