Where Are They Now: Big Tymers

Years later, they're still fly.

“Gator booooots, with the pimped out Gucci suuuuuuits.” That’s what will forever come to my mind at least once when I think of the Big Tymers. Mannie Fresh and Bryan “Baby” Williams have been a dynamic duo since the 90s, and have become legends in our hometown and beyond. The duo hooked up in the streets of New Orleans, where bounce music ran heavy. Because of this, Cash Money Records became a rap label and would become be a staple in the New Orleans hip-hop circuit.

Mix together the genius of Mannie Fresh and the business mind of Slim and Baby, CMR quickly became one of the biggest record labels—now worth $300 million. The Big Tymers had massive hits during their reign from 1995 to 2005. We can never forget hits like, “Get your Roll On” and “Stay Fly.” But like all good things, they came to an end. Now, both are still heavily in the industry. One is thriving, making beats while the other is striving to beat lawsuits.
