Yo Gotti is reportedly a person of interest
Young Dolph was hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Los Angeles. The TKTK rapper was shot while standing on the street outside of the Shoe Palace at the intersection of Hollywood & Highland.
According to reports, Young Dolph got into a fight with three men outside of the Loews Hotel where he was staying. At one point, Dolph was knocked to the ground and one of the men shot him several times. He ran, bleeding, into the nearby Shoe Palace. Dolph was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive the shooting.
The three men fled, with two of them hoofing it away on foot and another hopping into an Escalade. The Escalade driver took the car all of one block before abandoning it at a gas station.
The Los Angeles Police Department has detained one person in connection with the shooting, but there’s no information on his/her identity. According to TMZ, Dolph’s hip-hop rival Yo Gotti is being considered by police as a person of interest; witnesses claim that Gotti was involved.
However, Memphis’ Commercial Appeal reported that police on the scene heard no such talk about Yo Gotti. “While we were there at the scene, there was no mention of him being a person of interest,” LAPD officer Mike Lopez told the paper.
A Dangerous Year
Young Dolph may
want need to up his security after this life-threatening, tragic event. He has had a particularly dangerous year. Shortly after the release of his Yo Gotti diss track “Play Wit Yo B*tch,” his car was shot at over 100 times in Charlotte, NC. While the SUV and many nearby buildings were riddled with bullets, Dolph walked away unscathed and even performed later that evening. Yo Gotti-affiliated rapper Blac Youngsta turned himself in after being named as a suspect in the shooting. Youngsta has maintained his innocence.
After the incident, he decided to name his next project Bulletproof. The universe doesn’t like to be tempted in that way so it wasn’t long afterwards that a Young Dolph concert ended in gunfire. While it didn’t appear to be directed at Dolph, it did come during a performance of “Play Wit Yo B*tch.”
See the Scene
The Gotti diss is pure disrespect for its entire runtime; Dolph repeatedly claims that he stole Gotti’s girl from him and claims that their beef stems from Dolph refusing to sign with Gotti’s label. Check out a few representative lines below
“Heard your intro your last two mixtapes
I hear you slick dissin’ but that sh*t lame
All that make believe rappin’ about cocaine
Don’t play with me Ho Gotti you a hoe mane
You went from my biggest fan, to my biggest hater
Begging me to sign with you, but I had too much paper”
What do you think? Was Yo Gotti involved in the shooting or was this just a fight that got out of hand? Do you think Young Dolph can keep going like this if he keeps getting shot at every few months?
Will he have to stop claiming to be bulletproof? Should we expect a possibly incriminating Gotti diss in the near future? How about a boasting song from Dolph?
