Kodak Black stirred things up by changing his name on May 2nd. The 20-year-old rapper is now legally Bill. K. Kapri. Formerly Dieuson Octave, he was granted the name change by the Florida judge overseeing his jail sentence.

Kodak Black faced multiple probation violations that landed him in the cell back in January. He is set to be released in October. With the light at the end of the tunnel, Kodak Black also received good news in regards the child service investigation that was against him. When he was arrested in his home, his child was amongst the marijuana and ammunition found. The child neglect investigation has now come to an end, and the Child Protection Service has now dropped all claims.

Bill K. Kapri has been turning a new leaf while doing his time. He has been attending parenting classes and studying for his GED while in prison. Kodak’s legal representative has come forward after stating his client wanted a “fresh start.” The “No Flackin” singer will still go by Kodak Black as his rapper name. He’s not the only artist to name swap. John Legend, Nicki Minaj, and Bruno Mars have also altered their names to assist their music careers.
