DJ Premier and the late rapper MC Guru founded rap duo Gang Starr in Bosto in 1985. In February 2010, MC Guru of Gang Starr passed away due to a heart-attack. However, Guru remains true to the Gang Starr legacy and represents for the late MC everywhere he goes these days.

Just Blaze is one of the younger producers on this list but he has made a name for himself in the hip-hop world either way. The producer came to prominence in the early aughts when he constantly collaborated with JAY Z and since then has had several producer credits under his belt.
